ObservaçõesIt happened quickly, and I discounted fireworks given the angle and speed and there was no noise. I have since read that areas in the northern highlands experienced a loud `sonic boom` around 8pm and they mentioned meteors and fireballs . I know the time was around 7 54pm when I witnessed the fireball as I took a couple of photos of a cruise ship going down the Loch around 2 mins later at 7 56pm from the same location. So the report of a sonic boom sound from the Northern Highlands does not surprise me as the track of the fireball was heading towards Ullapool, I said to my wife I was expecting some kind of noise but maybe we were to far away from the actual fireball and we had gone back inside at approx. 758pm, maybe 3 to 4mins after the flash.
